As close as I got to surfing on this trip. I found this surfer while walking into Ono Gelato shop in Paia.

(ps - in my defense we were headed to a luau. hula on people.)

no. 113 - sea and sand

For the month of August I've decided to dedicate the site to shots from my time in Hawaii. While I was not there for a long period of time I have enough memorable shots to fill up this month (plus I get to relive Maui over and over again!).

I spent the moment below at sunset, feet in the sand with the sea rushing in and out over my feet.
Wishing I could stay right here in this moment.

On the shelf

Last February, during my yearly round up, I mentioned that pieces of my I am here project were going to be a part of a notecard collection published by Chronicle Books.

Well I was recently thumbing through my instagram contacts and saw someone call out that their photo was part of a similar collection...hmm...nah...that couldn't be the same one. So I looked it up and there it was. There were my photos, 4 of them, printed and being sold as part of a collection!

Shoegazing Notecards was put together by the creator of Uppercase Magazine. She styled each of them so perfectly. She even thought to put my name on the back of each of my cards (my name is on a card published by Chronicle Books - oh joy!)

So happy to be a part of this.  I am here.

Available at Chronicle Books, Amazon, Barnes and Noble and perhaps at a boutique near you.

no. 107 - insta i am here

More and more I find myself without my "big" camera and am relying more on my iphone. I love the ease and quickness of just snapping an "i am here" shot. After shooting I usually go into instagram then edit and post. Here are a few of my latest instagram captures:
